Looking for a non-Caribbean travel destination for June 26th, 2025 that isn't crazy expensive for my daughter's honeymoon

So my daughter is getting married in late June and I’m trying to find somewhat cheaper flights somewhere outside the United States that isn’t the Caribbean, because she recently got a cheap trip to Puerto Rico. I realize these are almost impossible parameters to work with, but since the odds of one of you reading this is a genius I thought I would throw myself at your mercy.

7-14 days.

Less than $1000 apiece for tickets.

Ideally somewhere where the US dollar is strong!

Update: flying out of Utah, so paying the western US tax.

Is anyone else wondering why a parent would plan a honeymoon?

Yes! I would be upset if anyone else tried to plan my honeymoon.

No.

Colombia is cheap.

Why are you asking about your daughter’s honeymoon? Anyone that’s old enough to have a honeymoon is old enough to do their own research. That’d be the day I’d want my mom or dad helping organize my honeymoon.

@Marin
Good point. She just asked me to keep an eye out for any deals.

Japan sometimes has cheap flights. Have you looked up going?

They are using Skyscanner and I did find some < $1,000 flights to Tokyo.

Problem is in Japan, you don’t want to be in Tokyo only (Kyoto, Osaka are must-sees). The cost of Shinkansen tickets will add up quickly. But if you’re okay with that… Japan is the most incredible destination! Been 4 times and still can’t get enough.

@Jesse
I want to go back.

Colombia/Guatemala/Ecuador or anywhere in Latin America really the flights are cheap, the dollar is strong, and plenty of adventures to be had!

Add Chile and Argentina to that list too.

Also Peru – we got cheap flights to Peru (under $500 US), and most hotels and restaurants were relatively cheap.

Use Google flight explorer. You can put the origin airport, a duration, and a timeframe and pan around the map to see options.

Second follow-up question - what type of holiday does the couple want? City break, mountain adventure, tropical beach, all inclusive, etc.

Also, what city are they departing from?

SLC departure. They are flexible on type of holiday. It does not have to be all-inclusive. They are more travelers than tourists, if that makes sense.

@Parker
Europe is going to be very expensive at that time of year. Japan is probably your best bet.

Isn’t summer in Japan very hot and humid though? My friends in Tokyo and Osaka are always complaining about it. Maybe if you head into the mountains or Hokkaido?

Thank you.
