Looking for a non-Caribbean travel destination for June 26th, 2025 that isn't crazy expensive for my daughter's honeymoon

Europe is going to be very expensive at that time of year. Japan is probably your best bet.

Thank you.

Japan is amazing but expensive.

Japan is very inexpensive. Was there in September. Great public transportation. Most hotels - moderate level - $50-90 per night. You can eat a dinner for two for under $20. The USD is very strong compared to the Japanese Yen. It’s clean, it’s safe, and people are very nice.

How many days? What’s the budget? Help us help you.

And congratulations!

7-14 days.

Less than $1000 apiece for tickets.

Ideally somewhere where the US dollar is strong!

Thank you.

@Parker
Ecuador is nice if she wants to visit the Galapagos.

How about Belize or Costa Rica?

This! Belize is a little more Caribbean feel but still distinctly different than other places in the Caribbean with their unique culture, food, history, ruins, etc. Costa Rica is also so amazing and everybody should go there at least once. Also, Guatemala is worth looking into!

What city are they flying out of? What do they like to do?

Latin America is the answer!
I don’t know how adventurous they are but you have plenty of options.

Vancouver.

Montreal can be a decent choice.

100 percent. I think they want to leave the western hemisphere, however.

For $1,000 a ticket, options are going to be tight in the Eastern Hemisphere, especially from SLC which will likely require a connection.

I recommend putting on a ton of flight alerts (I usually have multiple going through Google Flights, Kayak, and Capital One). You can use multiple dates and multiple locations. For example, we knew we wanted either a May or an August vacation so I set flight alerts for those time frames and multiple cities and just monitor. It’s worth the hassle. We just pulled the trigger on Rome in May because we got a flight alert that the price went down to $750 a ticket. Typically the flights are at least $1,200 from my location. I just got an alert that said the price went up to $1450 for the same date range.

Skyscanner is alright, but I think Google Flights, Kayak, and Capital One have more consistency and accuracy.

If you are in Boston or New York, the Azores could be fun. Round trip tickets are around $500:

What you should do is just go onto Google flights, put in your departure airport, maximum amount per flight, and click “explore”. You’ll see all the places that fit that criteria in a map.

Iceland?

From someone who was there for a few weeks this summer – definitely not a budget trip.

Yeah… the budget info was added after my post.

Came here to say Iceland or the Azores but both were said to.

Japan and other places in Asia are very inexpensive. Occasionally you can get some bargain airfare prices.

You might think about a cruise. All inclusive.

Portugal, Croatia, Scandinavia.
