Honestly, I’d go with something bright but not too flashy, like a deep orange or teal. It stands out at baggage claim, so you’re less likely to mix it up with someone else’s, but it’s not overly eye-catching for thieves. Adding a unique luggage tag or strap can also help with identification without drawing too much attention. Practical and safe!
Mine are black but I like adding stickers and tie a ribbon on it so it stands out!
Mine is orange. The bright color has saved me more than once.
Any. Just add a unique strap for $5.
I have a red Samsonite bag with a bumper sticker on the front and back. No one confuses my bag for theirs. Might be a little tacky, but I’ve never lost it.
So many years ago, my mom bought a handful of these ugly mustard yellow luggage straps. When necessary, I buy whatever good quality luggage is on sale, not necessarily matching. I still use these straps. They are so distinctive that I never have an issue picking out my gray or black bags. The blueberry color of one of my bags doesn’t hurt either.
Keep in mind, lighter color bags are going to show every grease stain and scuff.
White.
Why do you need other people’s opinions on suitcase color? If you are buying something for yourself, shouldn’t you get the color you feel is “best”?
People steal luggage that is easily confused with other pieces. It’s easy to grab a black or gray case since even the rightful owner may think “oh that kinda looks like my bag”. And, no one can tell the difference from one black suitcase or another as a person is walking away across an airport.
If you want to deter theft, get an easily distinguishable suitcase color or pattern. Red, purple, yellow, etc.
Got my daughter a rolling duffel for study abroad and it was dark but with a woodsy foresty design with leaves and stuff. It stood out but not screaming and was unique.
I’ve got a hot pink case. Matches the aesthetic.
I have bright emerald green. Dark enough to hide dirt, bright enough to be distinctive. I also have the pom markers in purple and luggage tags made out of photos I took.
I wish it was a more popular color.
I have a set of pinkish purple suitcases for many years and they’re easy to spot and I lent them to my family’s members without any problems.
I bought sea foam green thinking no one else would have it but a few weeks ago there were two other couples getting their sets of luggage from the carousel that were the exact same shade as ours. My second choice was yellow and I see a lot of people suggesting that. Whatever it is, get something you can spot easily. Someone stealing is going to go for one that blends in so they can say “oopsy I thought it was mine”.
In the last year I’ve seen several custom printed hard cases with hilariously bad photos of the owners all over them - hilarious and definitely not easily mistaken for someone else’s or a target for theft. (Bad photos as in frowning, making faces, hair in curlers, etc)
