Hey fellow travelers!
Short flights (2-3 hours) may not require as much packing as long-haul trips, but having the right accessories can make all the difference in comfort and convenience. What are your must-have items for these quick trips?

- Earbuds
Add my phone in and some snacks if they don’t provide them and I’m set
Sling bag for everything that’s normally in my pockets going through security. Also keeps that stuff handy in-flight, hung near my tray table. It holds among other things: passport wallet, power bank, phone and AirPods.

I did this for a recent trip to Thailand & Bali; it was PERFECT. It slipped perfectly beside me (while I slept), or hung over the tray in closed position.

True. Also, if surroundings seem a bit sketchy you can wear the sling under your jacket and it feels a bit more secure. Just having it slung close to your chest feels more secure. I’ve never been robbed or pickpocketed while traveling. I guess part of that is luck, and part of it is just situational awareness.
@Oak
For #5 I bring a microfiber towel if I’m heading to a beach venue or a pashmina for a city venue. They can do double duty.
@Oak
#5 is the best thing I’ve ever started doing when flying.

Thanks!
Noise-cancelling earbuds are the top two. Always have a backup pair.
Outside of the standard (i.e., Phone, Headphones, Laptop):
@Rowan
Seconding the AirFly. That’s a great little gadget.
Kindle. Maybe a pair of earbuds. Phone.
I used to do about 40 of those flights a year. Does the plane have seat back entertainment?
That’s a nothing flight.
Noise-cancelling earbuds. That’s it.
Noise-cancelling headphones. That’s all I need for a flight 2-3 hrs.
A downloaded podcast episode or two and a book.
Phone, my earbuds and nothing else. No backpack, computer or bag of any sort.
