I’m looking for a reliable app to exchange my apartment for holidays with someone who wants to swap theirs elsewhere.
I’m generally cautious about giving keys to my most personal and private space to a stranger, so I’m curious if anyone has used apps like Home Exchange? (After some Google searches, this app seems genuine and trustworthy compared to others.)
I’ve also seen reviews mentioning that after paying annual fees, people struggle to find other owners willing to exchange homes. Is it challenging to find places to stay, especially if you live in popular cities like Paris or Berlin compared to less attractive places like Brussels or smaller towns?
Any shared experiences would be greatly appreciated!
You should discuss your company’s misleading business practices with them. BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY. Home Exchange billed me $1000 for the Home Exchange Collection WITHOUT my consent. I received an email saying I was now part of the Home Collection community but was never informed about the $1k charge and did not receive a receipt for it. I am very upset. They still have not refunded the charge, and it’s been nearly two weeks since I contacted them. Months ago, they invited me to join their ‘exclusive’ home collection, but I declined.
Have the points you receive decreased significantly over the years? I was considering joining earlier, but I thought members received more points, which has been deterring me from joining for weeks now. Are there any special offers during the year, like Black Friday?
I’ve participated in over 15 home exchanges and can’t recommend it enough! The locations are fantastic, just like Steven said, and the people are warm and welcoming. For me, the true highlight isn’t the cost savings (which are a plus!), it’s the chance to live in a real home with all the space you don’t get in a hotel and experience daily life like a local.
