I am young and frightened since I will be traveling with a friend to a country that is considerably hotter than mine for more than six hours on a non-direct flight. Any advice you veterans have, I will take it.
Sunblock: You definitely don’t want to spend your vacation dealing with sunburn.
Consider bringing a few over-the-counter medications for headaches, upset stomachs, diarrhea, and airborne infections in case you start to catch a cold. Also, include moleskin or another blister remedy. Pack really comfortable socks and shoes, and earplugs for use in your hotel and on the plane. Ensure you have a secure pack or purse, or at least zippered pockets for safety.
Packing cubes…they revolutionized my life.
Great idea, but I keep those previously useless clear zipper bags, sheets, pillowcases, and bedspreads to use as packing cubes. You can also use gallon zip-lock bags instead.
As someone who’s traveled to significantly hotter climates before, I understand your concerns about the long flight. My advice is to stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water and avoiding excessive caffeine or alcohol. Wear lightweight, breathable clothing and pack a light jacket or sweater for the flight, as airplane cabins can get chilly. Prepare for the heat by bringing sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses. It’s also helpful to have a small travel kit with essentials like moisturizer and lip balm. Finally, take breaks to stretch and move around during the flight to stay comfortable. Safe travels and enjoy your trip!
