I have to travel to Las Vegas for work every month. My company will pay for my hotel, rental car, and flights. They might also pay for some food. I want to know how to get the most out of this. I can use my credit card to book my flights and get miles. Is there an airline that I should use all the time? I can also use my credit card to book my hotel and rental car and get 5x miles. I just started traveling for work like this, so I need some help and advice.
Always buy your flights from the airline and pay with your credit card. Do not buy from a portal. If you have an Amex platinum card, use it. Pick a credit card that gives you the most points for travel and use it to pay for your hotel. For rental cars, use National or Enterprise if you want to get free rental days. If you want to convert your car points to airline miles, Hertz is good for that. Pick a hotel brand and stick to it. Marriott is good because you can stack points with Rakuten. Hyatt is also good, but it is harder to get points.

Thank you so much for your help. Please send me your notes on travel hacking. I will look into Marriott and Hyatt and see which one is best for me. I have a CapitalOne Venture card and I get 5x points on hotels and rental cars if I book them through the app. I can still sign up for a Marriott or Hyatt account and get points from them too.
@Addison
Be careful with Hertz, they have had some problems in the past.
What airport do you fly from? You are on the right track. Use a credit card to book your flights and hotels. Marriott has a good points system.

I fly from San Diego. I will look into Marriott and see if it is better than my CapitalOne Venture card. I might upgrade to Venture X and see if it is worth it. I will check out Marriott and compare it to my credit card.
@Addison
Hi, I am from San Diego too. For flights from San Diego to Las Vegas, you can use Southwest or Alaska. I like Alaska because they are part of OneWorld and partner with other airlines.

I need miles for international flights. I do not want to use Spirit. Alaska sounds good. I will compare them to Southwest.

Think about each step of the process. For flights, pick an airline and use a credit card that gives you the most points. For hotels, pick a chain and sign up for an account. Use a credit card that gives you the most points for hotels. Always book directly and use your credit card.

Thank you for your help. I am making a list of everything and I will compare the benefits.

Always book directly and use your credit card. It helps you get the most points even when something goes wrong.
@bunny
I had a bad experience with not booking directly. It was a hassle to get a refund. I will make sure to book directly from now on.

I started traveling in 2006 and my company always stayed at Marriott properties. I got Lifetime Titanium status.

I am getting a lot of good feedback on Marriott. I already have an account with them, so I think I will stick with them.
