Hello dear community, I believe that there are many experienced travelers here and I would like to ask you for some tips regarding long flights. We will be flying from Europe to Australia and I’ve never been on such a long flight before. I’m wondering if there is something that makes the long flight more comfortable and is worth investing in, like a neck pillow or good noise-canceling headphones? Thank you in advance for all your feedback!

If you get a set of Sony over-ear headphones, they come with a cable that can be used on most airline entertainment systems.
They are great noise-canceling headphones for daily use and improve in-flight entertainment audio.
Other than that, make sure you have some comfy clothes to wear on the flight (including socks).
Try to get the best seat you can, regardless of the cabin you’re in. Even in economy, there are better seats, like those at the front of the cabin with no one in front. These provide a LOT more room, making you more comfortable and giving ease of access.
Pantiliners for women. Change it after 8 hours or so, and it feels like clean underwear.
I usually try to bring:
- A small bag of toiletries, including facial wash, dental stuff, etc. Note that some airlines provide these.
- My own earphones/headset.
- A change of clothes or two; comfy clothes and a hoodie; sometimes compression socks.
- Some entertainment, usually a book.
- A drinking vessel, because airline cups are tiny.
- Recently, I’ve taken to carrying a sachet of powdered sports drink because I tend to get dehydrated.
