Hi Y’all
I have a long journey ahead with layovers and need advice on packing liquids and making drink mixers. I know about the 3.4 oz rule for liquids in a clear plastic bag, but how many containers can I bring? I want to be well-prepared!
Also, any suggestions for mixers that freeze well into ice cubes for drinks? I like vodka and whiskey, but my attempts with vodka and juice didn’t freeze properly. Any creative solutions to keep my drinks cool and enjoyable during travel would be appreciated!
Thanks in advance for your help…
Long trip with layovers? Pack smart for drinks!
- Liquids: 3.4oz containers in a clear, quart-sized, sealable plastic bag (as many as fit comfortably).
- Mixer ice cubes:
- Pre-made cocktail mixes (travel-sized)
- Frozen fruit purees (mango, peach, berries)
- Herb-infused water cubes (mint, basil, rosemary)
- Citrus slices (lemon, lime, orange)
- Bonus: Pack an empty reusable water bottle to fill after security.
The 3-4oz rule for liquids in a clear bag applies, but you can bring a few containers that fit all together. For mixers, skip juice cubes (they separate!). Freeze sliced fruits or herbs for a flavor boost. Consider pre-mixing small drinks in checked luggage or using travel-sized powder mixes. Pack an empty water bottle to fill after security for both hydration and mixing
