Is there a restriction on the number of liquids (3.4 fl oz or less) that I can bring to an airport?

I have a lot of skincare and makeup that I’m bringing with me, and I’m concerned. Since this is my first time flying, I’m worried that I might have to discard many of these items.

As someone who frequently travels, I’ve learned that there are specific restrictions on the number of liquids I can bring to an airport. According to the UK government, passengers with hand luggage can only take liquids and creams in containers of up to 100ml on board an aircraft. These must be placed in a single, transparent, re-sealable plastic bag, which holds no more than a litre and measures about 20cm x 20cm. This rule was introduced after a foiled terrorist plot in 2006, where liquid explosives were disguised as drinks. While some airports have started to relax this rule with the installation of new security scanners, the 100ml limit remains in place at many major airports, including Heathrow, Gatwick, and Manchester. This means that even if I have multiple containers of liquids, each must be 100ml or less and fit within the single, transparent bag. If I have more than one type of liquid, I need to store each type in a separate container of not more than 100ml and put all containers in a transparent bag. This ensures that security screening can effectively detect any potential threats and keep passengers safe.

You can bring skincare and makeup on flights, but adhere to TSA liquid and size restrictions. Use travel-sized containers and pack items in a clear, quart-sized bag for easy screening. Review airline and TSA guidelines to ensure compliance and minimize potential discards.
