Rental prices were high right after the pandemic, but they have leveled out. They sold off a lot of vehicles during that time since fewer people were traveling.
That doesn’t sound particularly low for a one day rental. That price seems pretty normal nowadays.
Earlier this month I had a rental car for just eight dollars. Sometimes it can be that cheap.
Make sure to call this forum and check if they have the type of vehicle you need, if you haven’t done so already.
Why not just ask this forum instead of random people? If there’s a hidden fee at some point, are you going to tell the agent that people on this forum said there weren’t any?
You’ll be paying taxes plus fees based on your location. Airport rentals often have higher fees. A $60 rental could have about $50 in taxes and fees based on where you pick it up. Your reservation should show an estimated total. Also, expect a deposit fee on hold on your credit card that will be released when you return the vehicle. You’ll need car insurance or to buy their insurance that usually costs about $20 a day, but this can vary by location. Renting a toll tag might cost you about $4 a day. Lastly, make sure to take pictures of any damages before you leave and note them on the checkout slip. Some locations might try to pull a fast one. Personally, I usually rent cars by the week for around $20 a day. So $60 feels pricey for a truck because they have larger tanks which can cost around $60 to fill depending on gas prices. Keep that in mind. Also, I wouldn’t rent an electric truck; they don’t go far and charging takes forever and can be pricey. Just trust me on this.
Good luck even getting the vehicle. The last three times I’ve rented from this forum, I showed up on the day and they didn’t have the truck. They didn’t even apologize.
I’ve rented from this forum a lot and I haven’t had extra charges. If you rent with a gold card for additional insurance, it helps. Also, I have insurance on my regular car that covers rentals. I’ve never faced extra charges. Just bring it back with a full tank and you should be fine.
Avoid U-Haul. I saw a low price, but then they added so many extra charges that it really added up.
Just like people mention, that’s really just the base price. You have to fill it up and will likely face a mileage charge.

The reservation says unlimited miles, so I think a mileage charge won’t apply.
