Help Needed to Reach a Live Person at the US Consulate in Turkey

hallo…
I’m in a really tough spot. My relative passed away yesterday while on vacation in Turkey. I’ve been trying to get through to the State Department’s emergency assistance line, but every menu option just takes me to recorded messages that aren’t helpful at all. I’ve already looked up what I need online, so I really want to talk to a real person.
I was thinking of waiting until Monday to try again, but then I realized tomorrow’s Columbus Day, so they’ll be closed. Is there any way to reach an emergency consular service that actually connects you to someone? I also tried calling the US Embassy in Ankara, but they’re closed too and just gave me a number for ongoing emergencies. Since my relative has already passed, I’m not sure if that number is still the right one to call.

Regards…

Make sure you’re phoning the embassy during business hours before attempting to call. Local time zones and holidays may cause this to change. The US Embassy in Ankara can be contacted or the consulate’s official website can provide you with the most up-to-date information.

It’s possible that the consulate has social media profiles on Facebook or Twitter where you may message them. During business hours, if you find yourself in Turkey, you are welcome to pay the consulate a visit in person.

Making a live connection might take some time.: Give a succinct and straightforward explanation of why you are calling.

Be ready to divulge personal information if you want help with a particular application or visa.

Should you have tried every other avenue and are still unable to speak with a real person, you might want to try getting in touch with the US Embassy located in Ankara. They might be able to point you in the direction of the right department or provide you more help.
