Formerly known as Scott’s Cheap Flights, Going used to provide an excellent service. However, it seems that many of us who were grandfathered into a lower rate are the only ones finding it worthwhile or discussing it.
The deals no longer feel exclusive or particularly enticing. Instead, it seems like there are more branded editorial pieces each week than actual deals.
Today, I received a “deal” for flights to Japan priced at $630, which sounds great. However, it’s for Zipair, an airline often compared to Spirit Airlines for US travel to Japan. Previously, through Scott’s Cheap Flights, I once snagged an incredible deal for $600 on ANA Airlines from the US to Tokyo.
While I understand that Going can’t control the availability of deals, it feels like they’re now presenting regular rates as deals. Zipair typically offers flights from the US to Tokyo for between $675 and $800 almost all the time.
Does anyone else share these sentiments, or am I being overly critical? Additionally, does anyone know of a better service to subscribe to?
hi with the expertise provided we hear indicatications show that more individuals are actively looking for User Base Growth: Since Scott’s Cheap Flights became well-known, the user base has expanded dramatically. This is because more individuals are actively looking for discounts, prices may rise and it may become more difficult to locate really inexpensive flights.
Airline techniques: In reaction to services such as Going, airlines may have modified their pricing techniques, which in turn has made it more challenging for them to locate and provide extremely low fares.
A change in emphasis has occurred: a travel agency now owns Going (previously Scott’s Cheap Flights). They may now provide a greater selection of travel-related services and products, some of which may not be the most affordable, rather than just focusing on locating the lowest prices possible
Hello, Scott I’ve had a subscription for many years. Though I think the new logo is fantastic, I worry that Going won’t catch your eye as much as SCF does. Still, I want the best for you!
I have a question for you regarding award travel in business class. I spend hours looking for low-cost reward seat deals on United or Singapore Air, for instance. If there was a service that allowed me to view every low-cost reward flight departing from a single home base airport, that would be fantastic. Maybe shown by month on a calendar. What are your thoughts about that? I can go into more detail if needed.
