Delayed Baggage Can't Be Sent Home?

Hallo…

I’m in a bit of a jam with some delayed luggage. I filed a claim, and it turns out my bags are back in the country I visited, but I’m back home in the US now. I flew there on one airline (FlyOne) and came back on a different one.
The people at FlyOne said they can’t ship my bags to me because they don’t have a route to my city. They suggested I reach out to another airline for shipping, but I’m not really sure what that means.
Does anyone have any ideas on what I should do? Is my only option to have a friend pick them up and ship them to me? I’d really rather not deal with those shipping costs if I can avoid it.

Regards…
