I’ve tried various brands, and they all seem to leak or are hard to clean.
Do you have a favorite brand that works well? Please share your recommendations thanks…

Just a heads up, don’t put sunscreen in any container other than the one it comes in. The plastic can react with the sunscreen chemicals and make them less effective or even cause issues like allergies or rashes.
For small portions of creams and lotions, I suggest using contact lens cases with screw-on tops, not the snap-on ones!
@Teegan
Great tip about contact lens cases! I use them for jewelry cleaner fluid. The size is perfect for cleaning rings.

You can also use those useless eyebrow brushes from makeup sets as jewelry cleaner brushes while traveling.
@Teegan
That might be true for chemical sunscreens, but I use zinc sunscreen and have no issues with it in my silicone bottles; they’re pretty inert. Just letting everyone know! If you’re going into natural waterways, look for reef-safe options like zinc. Also, check for food-grade silicone to avoid any issues with your moisturizers and keep them BPA-free.
@Joss
Good point, zinc is a solid choice for being reef-safe. And yes, food-grade silicone is definitely the way to go.
I really like my Muji bottles. I’ve taken them on flights to Europe several times, and they’ve never leaked or had issues with elevation. Plus, they are super affordable.

I use the polyethylene cylinder bottle with a snap cap.

Have you found a way to label the Muji containers? Nothing seems to stick to them.
@Abi
I use the Brother P-touch labels! They stick well even when the Muji bottles get wet.
@Abi
I have some labels that work on mine, but I can’t remember where I got them. I thought I ordered them from Muji when I got the bottles, but maybe they don’t sell them anymore.

When I bought mine in store recently, they didn’t have any labels.
I really like Nalgene containers.

I came here to mention Nalgene too! I love their bottles and larger containers; they have never leaked for me. The canisters are much easier to clean than the bottles, but both work great.
@Teo
I just toss them in the dishwasher when I want them really clean, and mine have made it through over a million flight miles without issues.
I just use whatever the hotel provides; those little bottles never leak in my luggage.

Simple but true. Those tiny hotel bottles are surprisingly sturdy compared to most travel containers I’ve used.
I buy travel-sized toiletries and reuse those bottles, and they have never leaked.
One trick is to take the cap off and put Saran Wrap over the opening before screwing the cap back on.

Any kind of plastic should work for this.
