This seems like a great deal, it’s the lowest price I’ve seen. Since I’ll be traveling a lot over the next few months, this feels like the perfect opportunity to try them out. Are they worth it?
Can we use this if we have android?

Yes. Not as seamlessly but it will work with them.

How can you use AirTags with Android?

You can’t use AirTags with Android in a meaningful way. Get an Android specific tracker. There are a couple different ones out now using Google Find My Network. Pebblebee, Chipolo, Tile, Samsung, Moto Tag… I’m using the Moto Tags. Same size as the AirTags so you can use any accessories made for the AirTags.

You can use them to track just the same. That’s literally all they do. On Apple, you can use the built-in apps more readily; for Android, you just need a go-between app. Easy to find instructions online.

The only instructions I’ve found for tracking AirTags with an Android device are downloading iOS emulators/apps (which have mixed reviews) or using Bluetooth detection apps to counter stalking (these don’t have full tracking functionality; only detect if you’ve got a tracker placed on you).
I got one AirTag for $25 at my local Walmart before a trip on which I had a short connection. When I landed in SEA, I could see my bag was still in ORD. That saved me waiting 20+ minutes at the baggage carousel and I was first in line at baggage claim help desk where they confirmed it was still in ORD, would be coming in on the next flight, and I gave them an address to send it to.
By the time the frozen fish got to my cousin’s house (it was still frozen), I was already driving through Canada on my 2,600-mile trip home.
So it saved me about 30 minutes at the airport. Afterwards, I tracked it to let my cousin know when it got to SEA and would be couriered to them.
My daughter left her daypack on a subway after a red-eye international flight. Had she had an AirTag in it, it would have answered many questions sooner - whether it was still on the train, gone to the end of the line possibly to be put in Lost and Found, or had been stolen (which it appeared to have been). Reducing the many hours multiple family members spent on the phone and driving around subway stations instead of being on vacation would have been worth a lot.

Sockeye. The other red meat.
FYI, AirTags are on sale because sometime next year, Apple will introduce the AirTag 2.
Definitely worth it. I AirTag everything when I fly. Gives a lot of peace of mind when I have to check a bag and I can follow its journey along the way to my plane, and then immediately see it arrived when I take my plane out of airplane mode on landing.
I think Costco is also selling at this price.
Some airlines are starting to piggyback on the AirTags system, so I’d say they’re more useful than ever. Don’t ask me to explain the technical side! We bought ours a couple of years ago, and though we have had no problems with lost luggage since then, they’ve bought me peace of mind.
Can you track an AirTag with an iPad? I don’t own an iPhone.
The new ones are supposed to be coming out this year if you want better tracking ones.
I wonder if I can buy it on Amazon and bring it to Apple to engrave it?

No. It can only be done if purchased directly from Apple. If you have a Costco membership, you can buy Apple gift cards at a slightly cheaper price to save some money.

Apple ‘native advertising’. Guaranteed there are bots (or people paid to make posts like this) that clearly mention a branded product and what a great deal it is. Or do normal people really speak like marketing copy these days? Like on a TV or streaming show…that C*ke branded cola can isn’t there by accident, somebody paid for it to be shown.
