Using Hair Tools in Europe

Good evening…

I’m heading to France and Amsterdam soon and need some tips on using my blow dryer there. I know I need a European plug adapter, but last time I tried this in Italy in 2019, my US blow dryer burned out. :grimacing: Clearly, I messed something up
Can anyone tell me what else I need to safely use my blow dryer in Europe? Do I need a voltage converter or anything besides the adapter? Any advice would be super helpful!

Your response is welcome…

120 volts is the standard in the US, whereas 220-240 volts is used in Europe. You will require a voltage converter :triumph: if your hair tools are not dual voltage in order to prevent damage to them.

The plug shapes used in European outlets differ from those used in US outlets. To fit the plug of your hair tool into a European socket, you’ll need a plug adaptor.

Using dual voltage hair tools, which can handle both 120V and 220-240V, is the simplest approach. To find out if your equipment supports dual voltage, check the label.

A converter modifies the voltage, whereas an adapter modifies the plug’s form. Make sure the one you have fits your needs :confounded:

Certain manufacturers provide hair tools that are suitable for traveling and may be used abroad. These frequently have small designs and dual voltage built-in.
