Traveling from LAX to San Diego by Train – How Difficult?

Hallo… :anguished:

I’m planning a trip to San Diego and noticed that flying into LAX is way cheaper than flying directly to SD. I don’t travel much and have never used public transportation in California, so I’m wondering how hard it is to get from LAX to San Diego by train? Any tips or things I should know?
Also, I’ve got someone who can pick me up at the train station in San Diego, but I’m a bit nervous about timing it right. Any advice on that would be super helpful!

Best regards…
