I’m gearing up for an upcoming trip and I’m looking to streamline my packing. I’m a guy and I want to make sure I have all the essential items covered for my travel needs. Could anyone provide some advice on what are considered essential travel items for men?
I personally have a five-finger rule for my essential travels. I must always carry
My USB charging cable
Toothbrush
Towel
Boxers and Vests
Cologne
Sure you can get a toothbrush and towel at some hotels and motels, but I still feel like something always happen and you might end up stranded, better safe than sorry
Of course, travel documents like a Passport (with a holder), travel insurance, and many more are a must.
For clothing, make sure you have the essentials first then carry two or three pairs of other clothes either heavy or light depending on the destination.
Carrying one pair of comfortable shoes and one pair of open ones is enough.
Although we are men, hygiene is a must therefore be sure to carry enough toiletries for your trip.
Of course the best part of the packing should include your gadgets. Do not forget to also pack portable power sources to power them.
I have a pair of old US Air throws that roll up very tight, a poncho, a pen, and a cigarette lighter charger with two 3-foot wires. The throws are useful on the plane or while traveling because we can cover up or chuck things in the rear. I don’t usually take a raincoat, so I bring a poncho in case of bad weather. In addition, we’ll get a charger and two wires to charge our devices while driving.

toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, etc. When you’re feeling down, that can cheer you up.
It is also advised to bring along a few changes of clothes. In the event that you spill on yourself or your luggage gets missing. (I once experienced a Coca-Cola spill 30 minutes into my first of three flights to Europe.)
Make sure you have everything downloaded because the entertainment/wifi apps tend to stop working after a while.
