Tip - always leave a small toiletry bag packed in all your suitcases/travel bags

What!

I always have my toiletries bag packed and in my suitcase. Just have to throw my clothes and phone charger in and I’m ready to go.

Include the travel size toiletries that are normally taken—shampoo, hair spray, etc. Having a bag packed with these types of items was a lifesaver when my friend was chosen for jury duty and they were sequestered. Her husband just had to pack her clothes without worrying about the toiletries.

Thank you! I travel for work a lot and forget a first aid kit pretty much every time. Yes, most of the time I stay in a hotel in the city, but having an alcohol pad and a Band-Aid on you is so much more convenient.

I always carry plasters, dressing, alcohol wipes, antiseptic cream, scissors, diarrhea tablets, allergy tablets, a sewing kit, paracetamol, and ibuprofen. Yes you can buy these things when traveling, but inevitably you’ll find you need them in the middle of the night or in the middle of nowhere.

I once cut my foot very badly in the jungle in Borneo. The cut was almost down to the bone. Stupidly I had left my usual first aid kit in the luggage on the mainland, having taken just a small bag on the jungle trip. That’s how I found out that the hostel had no first aid kit. I had some tea tree oil and some plasters, and had to walk around barefoot with the wound getting filthy until I left early to get medical help. I learned my lesson right there.

This is kinda cool.

I have a toiletries bag that is always packed, so it just gets tossed in as is. I haven’t bothered with Band-Aids in decades, but all my usual toiletries are in there in smaller sizes.

Actually so smart. Lil emergency bag vibes, love it.

That’s such a good idea! In odd scenarios, a small toiletry bag can come in handy. Adding this to my travel plans for sure!

Some of us never forget. It’s a packing puzzle. Maybe this is for those who also forget their passports at home.

If you cut yourself and ‘need’ a bandaid, you honestly did not need anything.

This is a pretty standard practice for anyone who travels often.

You can pretty much say the same for any other ‘hack’.
