There’s an app called Offline Games that includes many games perfect for flights. My husband and I love it.
2248, it’s an addictive numbers game.
Old-school crosswords, Sudoku, and Happy Color (a coloring app) are also great mindless offline options.
I love Sudoku. I found an app that has various types like cross math and killer Sudoku. Nonograms are also fun; my favorite app is Nonograms Katana.

Good Sudoku on Apple Arcade is great too.
Civilization is a must-play.
Vampire Survivors has consumed too much of my time!
My husband uses his iPad only when flying, never at home. I enjoy various Solitaire games and the NYTimes Wordle and Crossword games. Just browse the app store!
Sudoku!
I enjoy Sudoku and that bottle puzzle game (can’t remember the name). It has plenty of ads.
For RPGs or Star Wars fans, you can get Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 1 & 2 on iPad. I’ve logged 300-400 hours on them; they’re amazing.
I’ve had a great time playing Civilization on a tablet during long flights.
Great Game Boy Advance or Nintendo DS options if you install Delta.
Check it out!
Mini Metro!!!
Smash Hit!
Pixel Art.
Northgard is worth checking out: Northgard on the App Store (it should redirect to your local App Store).
Wingspan!! It’s super soothing to look at and entirely strategic.
