I always travel with my iPad. I don’t even own a laptop anymore.
Cheap Chromebook FTW. Always good to have something with a keyboard in case I need to do a lengthy message/correspondence.
I travel with a backup phone (Pixel 5) that has the system and apps all fully updated. If I lose my primary device, just power on the other one and I’m back in business. I also carry a printed/laminated list of my Google backup codes in my wallet in the event that I lose my devices, that way I can log into my Google account from any other device. I do also travel with my tablet, which is used mainly for watching movies and TV shows on the plane or at my destination.

That’s really convenient if someone ever finds it if you lose your wallet.
@Cade
I guess, but they wouldn’t know my username or password, right? If there’s a better way to use backup codes, let me know; I’m definitely open to suggestions.
Having just gotten a new phone, you must remember that you must have another device to activate your new device. So if you are traveling and your phone dies, if you have no other “device” where you can receive the code they send you to verify your existence, then you are screwed. Also for traveling, I find the iPhone too small to be able to read and interact with things well. I prefer the iPad (or laptop) for watching videos or browsing the internet and for interacting with websites so I can ensure what I am entering. Also, I do a lot of typing for various things and the iPhone doesn’t cut it for me. I do a few things on it but don’t feel comfortable traveling with only the iPhone.
I think you can just do all of this on your MacBook though, no real need to add an extra device?

Not everyone has a MacBook or carries it around.

How do y’all keep your job? Are y’all factory workers or something?
I think I speak for at least half the population when I say: being offline multiple days COMPLETELY, even on vacation, is unacceptable if you want to keep working there. Other team members get blocked and you can’t just leave them hanging.
