Need some tips for traveling to Egypt

Did you use any public transport or ride-ordering apps? I’m trying to keep transport costs low while walking as much as possible.

In Cairo, I mostly used Uber. The bus was an option once but it was convenient. In Luxor, walking is easy on the east bank, and I booked drivers when necessary. In Hurghada, I hired drivers for my tours and used inDrive to get around.

Thank you for the info!

I went on a Nile Cruise and enjoyed it, even if it felt a bit rushed at times. Remember to keep your windows locked! The cruise took us to places like Abu Simbel and offered amazing experiences. Most attractions can be easily reached from your hotel via organized taxis. If you’re looking for the King Tut exhibit, do research to find out its current location as it may differ.

Egypt is a mixed bag for travel. I planned a do-it-yourself trip but ended up booking a tour because it made things easier. We had an amazing guide, which took a lot of stress away. Keep in mind you might deal with harassment, but as long as you’re aware of your surroundings, you’ll likely be fine.

I would not recommend going. If you need to see a pyramid, consider options like Mexico or Cambodia instead. The hassle really isn’t worth it.

Egypt and especially Cairo gets a lot of love from people here. Just go for it!
