Inquiry About Visiting Yosemite in Late November

Good morning…

We’re heading to Death Valley from the Bay Area and want to stop for a night in Yosemite before making our way back to SF. I’ve heard that the weather there in late November can be all over the place—like t-shirt weather one day and full-on snowboarding the next!
Is there a part of Yosemite where we definitely won’t have to worry about snow or ice? We’d like to avoid messing with tire chains if we can. We’ve got an AWD, but it’d be nice to skip the hassle.

Your help on this is welcome…

Even in early November, you may still see some fall foliage, and the park’s vistas are breathtaking with their clear mornings and chilly evenings.

Because fewer people are visiting, :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: some animals may be hibernating, but others are still active and simpler to see.

Snow may :stuck_out_tongue: cause some roads, such as Tioga Road and Glacier Point Road, to shut, limiting access to specific areas of the park.

The weather may change drastically, from bright days to snowfall early in the season :innocent:. It’s critical to be ready for potentially snowy and chilly weather.

Because the temperature might fluctuate during the day, it’s advisable to dress in layers to be warm.
