How does one begin arranging a vacation?

I would really like to take a trip later in the year! However, I’ve never organized a vacation before, so I’m not sure where to begin. At the very least, that is the aim; I live in New York and would love to see Oregon and Washington. One of the main problems preventing me from starting to plan it right now is that I am too old to rent a car! So, thank you for any and all information :heart:!

I always start by marking the places I want to visit on a map. That makes it simpler to picture the areas where I need to search for lodging.

Finding a good midway ground makes the rest quite simple! Decide on your budget and make all of your reservations accordingly. I’m thrilled for you and wish you well.

Initially:

Establish a budget.

Determine your range of dates.

Look at the best places to visit in Oregon and Washington, select the ones that pique your interest, and choose a stopping point.

You may investigate bus and train travel, Amtrak, Greyhound, etc. because you are unable to rent a car. Given that it will determine where you will fly into and out of as well as what you can access while you are there, this section may be the most crucial.

Start searching at Airbnb after you’ve decided where you want to spend your time. I have a soft spot for Airbnb, though. A less expensive option could be found at Hostelworld.com. Ten years ago, I used this extensively while traveling through Europe on foot.
