Help with Multi-City US Tour Itinerary (San Francisco & Los Angeles)

How are u…
I’m planning a big US tour starting from Toronto and trying to lock down the details for my California stops. I want to visit both San Francisco and Los Angeles, but I’m not sure how long to stay in each or what’s worth prioritizing.
Here’s the rough itinerary so far:

Cities:

  • Boston: 2 nights

  • NYC: 7 nights (with a day trip to Washington DC)

  • Las Vegas: 5 nights (with side trips to the Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam)

  • San Francisco: 2 or 3 nights

  • Los Angeles: 4 or 5 nights * hicago: 3 nights

    San Francisco:

  • Day 1: Fly in from Vegas, check into the hotel, city tour (Golden Gate Bridge, maybe dinner with a view of the bridge).

  • Day 2: Yosemite and Giant Sequoias Hike (Group tour).

  • Day 3: Rent a car for a road trip to Carmel-by-the-Sea and Monterey, or maybe do a Napa Valley tour. Los Angeles:

  • Day 1: Fly in from San Francisco, grab a rental car, check into the hotel, and do a scenic drive to Malibu and Santa Monica.

  • Day 2: Hit up Hollywood Heights, Beverly Hills, Venice Beach, and the Sunset Strip.

  • Day 3: Theme park day (any recommendations?) + visit Griffith Observatory and do the Warner Bros Studio Tour.

  • Day 4: Road trip to Irvine to visit family.

  • Day 5: Road trip to San Diego (I love driving!). I’m trying to decide whether to keep both San Francisco and Los Angeles in the plan or drop one. Feels like a waste to cut either since they’re close to Vegas.
How long would you guys recommend staying in San Francisco and LA based on what I’ve got planned? Would 2 or 3 nights in SF and 4 or 5 in LA work?

You advise on this will be highly valued…

When you get to LAX, check into your hotel.Explore Downtown Los Angeles in the afternoon, stopping at The Broad Museum and The Walt Disney Concert Hall. See the city and the Hollywood sign from above at Griffith Observatory.

Visit Hollywood, stopping at the TCL Chinese Theatre and the Walk of Fame.Walk around Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills in the afternoon. Unwind and take in the sunset at Santa Monica Pier.

Visit Disneyland for the day. Go to Hollywood’s Universal Studios.

Take a plane or a car to San Francisco. Go via Fisherman’s Wharf and check into your accommodation. :anguished: Take a sunset boat ride across the Bay to see sights like Alcatraz and the Golden Gate Bridge.

Visit the island of Alcatraz. In the afternoon, take a tour of Golden Gate Park, which includes the Japanese Tea Garden and the California Academy of Sciences.
Take a stroll through Chinatown and dine at North Beach, which is Little Italy.
