Get Benefits Even With Poor Credit?

My credit score is in the “Fair” level, therefore when I applied for an Amex business credit card lately, it was rejected. May saw the loss of a contract for my LLC/business, which had a big effect on my income. But things are starting to turn around, and I’ll be visiting various places quite a bit over the next few months.

Since 2021, I’ve only taken one trip a year, but now I want to make that number up, establish my credibility, and grab hold of any benefits or advantages. What actions can I do to get ready for my impending journeys and optimize any benefits since I don’t yet have a travel card?

Even with a fair credit score, you can still get some travel perks. Look into secured credit cards to build credit and get rewards. Also, check out travel rewards programs from airlines and hotels, and keep an eye on online deals for discounts. As your credit improves, you’ll have more options for travel cards and benefits.

Running my own business has taught me the ups and downs of financial management and the importance of building credit. After losing a significant contract in May, my credit score dropped to a “Fair” level, leading to a rejected Amex business credit card application. Now that my income is stabilizing, I’m planning more trips to grow my business and establish credibility. Since 2021, I’ve only traveled once a year, but I’m now aiming to travel more frequently. To prepare, I’ll focus on improving my credit score by paying down existing debts, ensuring timely bill payments, and possibly getting a secured credit card to rebuild credit. Additionally, I’ll sign up for travel rewards programs, book flights and hotels strategically to maximize points, and consider alternative financing options to support my travel plans. This approach will help me optimize benefits and re-establish my financial standing.
