Hey everyone, I’ve been thinking about renting a car for an upcoming trip, and I’m wondering about Enterprise’s payment options. I remember using them a few years ago, but things might have changed. Does Enterprise accept debit cards for rentals nowadays, or do they still require credit cards? Any recent experiences or tips on this would be super helpful. Thanks
I just rented a car from Enterprise myself for a weekend getaway. They definitely do accept debit cards, but I remember needing to show my flight back home at the counter. It was a breeze though, way easier than I thought! Just be sure your debit card has enough available funds to cover the rental cost. They put a hold on it for any potential fees.
Be advised that the holds placed on debit cards are more substantial than those placed on credit cards. For example, when my buddy needed to use their debit card to pay for a $200 and change rental, they put a $800 hold on it.
To avoid being locked out of your own debit card, just make sure you have enough money in your account and make plans for that!
