In approximately a week, I will be flying for around thirty hours and spending time in an airport. And I swear to God, I know that will be awful. I’m a big guy—not overweight, but with wide shoulders. Additionally, it appears that airline seats were made for midgets. I can obtain greater legroom even if I choose seats behind bulkheads, but I would also prefer extra shoulder room.
Additionally, I am only able to afford premium economy.
Flying can be rough, especially with limited space. Some people enjoy the excitement of travel, but for many, it’s just a necessary hassle. Bring some entertainment and comfort items to make it more bearable.
I enjoy the thrill of takeoff and the unique perspective of seeing clouds from above. However, I dislike the cramped seats (especially considering I’m 5’4"), the waiting times, struggling to hear announcements in the noisy airport, and squeezing through narrow aisles.
I fly quite regularly and I’m a big guy at 185cm tall, so I’m overweight, but I don’t find economy class too uncomfortable - even on budget airlines. On long flights, I keep myself entertained with a few movies on the in-flight entertainment system or on my laptop, along with my noise-canceling headphones, and I’m good to go. Honestly, unless someone has exceptionally long legs, I don’t understand why flying gets such a bad rap. For me, the excitement of takeoff, soaring through the sky, and looking out at the clouds and landscapes below never fails to thrill me.
