Docked Pay for Late Time Card—Need Advice on Switching Recruiters

How are u…

I joined PTHC about a month ago, and last week they docked me $20 for sending my time card in late. I had it ready but totally forgot to hit send after getting reminded on Tuesday. My pay stub showed a MISC DED (miscellaneous deduction), and when I asked my recruiter about it, she said they charge $20 for that. I’ve never heard of such a thing, and I thought it might even be illegal.
I went through all my contracts and the employee handbook, and there’s nothing about it. She sent me a screenshot of some “updated policy,” and when I told her it didn’t sit right with me, she said she’d talk to the account manager. Then she asked for my Cash App or Venmo for the refund!
Honestly, I’ve had nothing but problems with this recruiter—like not getting paid time and a half for overtime and only getting a couple bucks more for holiday pay when I thought I’d be getting my base pay plus that. After I raised my concerns, they had me sign a new contract, which I regret because now my base pay is even lower. So, how do I switch recruiters? This whole situation feels really shady, and I’m ready to move on. Any advice would be super helpful!
