Do I Need a Return Flight Back to the US for My Asia Trip?

Hey guys…

I’ve been trying to find an answer to this question and can’t seem to get a clear response, so I’m hoping someone here can help me out. I’m planning a trip to Asia, starting in Japan, then going to South Korea, and possibly Taiwan or China. I’m not sure how long I’ll stay in China or if I’ll keep traveling afterward.

I know I need an onward ticket to enter these countries, but do I need a return flight back to the US in order to leave? Will I have to show proof that I’m coming back to the US at some point, or is it enough to have a ticket from Japan to South Korea?

I hope this makes sense, and I appreciate any insights you can provide! Thanks

You don’t need a return flight back to the U.S. for these countries, but you will need proof of onward travel when entering each one.
