Hallo…
I’m heading to Sweden on October 22nd, and I’m struggling to get my 3-month supply of Mounjaro (my diabetes injection) before I go. The only pharmacy that does 3-month pick-ups is CVS, but I’ve already called three stores and none have enough in stock. I’d have to call like 500 more stores since my city’s huge.
At this point, I’m wondering if it’d be easier to just grab a 1-month supply in Sweden and pay out of pocket. Has anyone done this before? Is it possible, and how much would it cost with or without travel insurance? I’m starting to stress out over this.
Best regards…
Bring a letter from your doctor outlining your ailment and the reason you need to take your medicine, as well as a copy of your prescription. If you need to acquire extra medication while traveling, this might be useful.
Do some research on Swedish pharmacies before you travel. Pharmacies in many nations, including Sweden, are able to fill prescriptions from other countries, particularly for necessary drugs like insulin.
Make sure that the cost of prescription drugs is covered by your travel insurance for medical expenditures. This might give piece of mind in case you need to acquire extra goods.
Carry extra supplies, including as test strips and insulin, than you anticipate using. Having more is preferable to running out.
Declare your diabetic supplies at security checkpoints while traveling by air. Once appropriately checked, TSA permits diabetes-related supplies, equipment, and prescriptions to pass through checkpoints.
