Best women's walking shoes for travel in Europe

Hi Y’all,

I am going to Italy for two weeks in May and need recommendations for stylish walking shoes that don’t look like athletic running shoes. I need comfortable shoes for all-day wear that go well with dresses and workout clothes.

Since Birkenstocks offer no cushioning or shock absorption at all, I gave them up years ago. Walking on pavement, cobblestones, gravel, tile, etc. for eight to twelve hours a day while traveling left my feet quite sore and bruised after a few days.

I’ve been wearing Chacos for more than 15 years now. They have built-in arch support, different kinds of water and trekking soles, and some stylish designs. The soles that cushion shock are excellent. Additionally, they don’t slip on damp cobbles.

Although I enjoy Tevas, the straps aren’t positioned correctly for my preferred type of foot support.

@Natalie Actually, you should wear athletic running shoes if you want to walk a lot throughout Europe. You can’t go wrong with the New Balance 1080, 880, or 9060, ASICS Kayano, or Nimbus.
