Best way to save on car rentals?

Hey everyone, I always struggle with car rentals. What is the simplest way to save money on them?

Should I use the Herz or Budget app? Is there a specific website or credit card that earns points?

Could someone point me in the right direction?

Hi, To save on car rentals, compare prices across multiple rental companies, book in advance for better rates, look for discounts through memberships (like AAA or Costco), avoid renting from airport locations if possible, consider smaller local rental agencies, and be flexible with pickup and drop-off times to potentially find lower rates.

The previous day, I recommended Turo for a van hire. It appeared that a huge or specialty vehicle is where they truly seem to excel. Last year, I saved a lot of boatloads.

Other than that, though, it didn’t seem worth the extra risk for a regular commuter.

For instance, the owner had another excellent van accessible and it didn’t set me back too terribly, even though the tires on my previous van had poor tread. Any reputable rental property won’t allow such to occur.

I strongly advise against using Turo. It’s wonderful to have a decent host, however they will remove negative reviews. When I returned the used automobile, the owner said it smelled like smoke. I refused to pay the fictitious amount, so I was fined $250 and it was sent to claims. I don’t do anything else, like smoke cigarettes. They didn’t need any documentation or proof.
