Avoid Euronet ATM

I use Schwab so my ATM fees are refunded, but I refuse to use Euronet as a matter of principle.

That’ll teach them! :sob:

There’s one ATM I use that seems okay but never gets cleaned. Last month, I had to use one in a supermarket in Cork that charged me 4.95 euros. The fee wasn’t disclosed until the end of the transaction; there was no signage about it. I only used it because the shop’s payment systems were down and had no other ATMs within a 10-15 minute walk. Good to know what Euronet is like.

Oh yeah, they are total scammers. Never use them.

When traveling abroad and needing cash from ATMs, always choose bank ATMs.

These ATMs are scams and charge fees on any card, including European cards. I wish you had known this beforehand.

It’s not only Euronet. I noticed a similar ‘exchange rate’ at a CaixaBank ATM in Barcelona two weeks ago, and I quickly canceled the transaction.

You don’t understand how it works. Stop accepting their awful exchange rates. It’s not hard.

I forgot to exchange before I left, and TD Bank has no partner banks in Spain. The embassy was also too far.
