Once Delta changed my destination from Manchester to London, and it would have set me back $200 plus a long travel time to get to Manchester. I complained and they switched my layover airport to get me to Manchester.

That’s unbelievable!
I just experienced this last week. Air China messed up my itinerary and my 4-hour layover turned into 60 minutes in Shanghai. Naturally, I missed my flight and had to switch to a different airport. Thankfully, everyone was helpful and put me on the next flight for free, but it was still chaotic with 2 bags.
It’s surprising how careless airlines can be about airports. It’s shocking when you’re about to book a flight and find out the connection is through two different airports. Some make it clear, but others just want to sell the tickets.
